Stock Market
The last decade (2000 - 2010) is now being coined as the lost decade as well. One can say that all things material just literally disappeared from existence after the markets started going downhill. This makes me wonder the purpose and inefficiencies of stock markets and the like. Speculation can make or break a person's retirement account, bring down a company, bring down a country as well.

Learning from the Mormons
The unique organization structure of the Mormon network has worked for them very well. Worldwide, some 14 million members of the church are divided into thousands of units, most of them made up of 300 to 400 people. A bishop presides over each member unit, which keeps detailed records—address, phone, work address and other information on each member. This is very relevant to any large organization - the key is to keep groups small enough so they can be cohesive but at the same time reflect the values of the larger organization across these subgroups. Their response to the Japan earthquakes and Tsunami is something to be taught in all MBA courses - their structure helped the missionaries in Japan to keep tab of each other, work towards relocating to a safer area, and mobilize resources to aid relief operations.

Leadership, Bio Enhancements, Global Experiences
The U.S military is one of the world's largest and technologically advanced. It is almost impossible to make the connection between the men in uniform and top executives. Somehow, there is an interrelation between an Army General and a CEO. Listen and watch General Cartwright talk about the future of our nation and its leaders.

The GE Way
Ever since I started dreaming about a professional career and making my way into the corporate world, Jack Welch's GE was my destination. Jack Welch is a management genius, a true innovator and his leadership is to be admired by all aspiring MBA students.
Here is Mr Welch speaking at Fairfield Univeristy, CT...talks about the human equation, which I believe is the most interesting leadership challenge. Also, watch out for sections in Q&A where he addresses the questions on executive/employee pay disparity...
